I’m Mackenzie, a twenty‑something American who decided to uproot the life I had built in the States in hopes of gaining global mobility by moving abroad.  In 2024, I packed up everything I owned and moved to ✨Europe✨ on a whim. When I first got here, I was so scared that I made the biggest mistake, leaving everything behind in the States. I moved across an ocean, to a country I had never been to, for a job I knew very little about, by myself, and I had no idea how long I would stay. Looking back, it was the greatest decision I’ve ever made.

Since then, I have traveled as much as possible in order to take advantage of my newfound access to just about every European city and have basically become an amateur travel planner for spontaneous, weekend-long trips. I’ve learned you don’t need weeks off to experience Europe, you need curiosity, a carry‑on, and the willingness to GO!

This site has really been a long time coming. I’ve always loved planning trips, and after moving abroad, that love turned into something tangible. I spend an embarrassing amount of time scanning blogs and travel sites for flights, accommodations, dinner spots, as well as hidden-gems hunting on Google Maps (it's seriously a pastime). All this just to form my piece of art: the perfect trip itinerary.

Here on Mackenzie Travels, I want to share all my travel stories as well as my most cherished, self‑made itineraries. The ones I’ve poured hundreds of hours into; crafted by me, for me, and occasionally shared with others. 😉

When I’m not planning my next getaway, I’m usually hopping on last‑minute flights, testing out off-season destinations, or sharing honest travel tips across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. Follow me to stay up to date with my recent adventures!
